Covid Coffee Cantankerous

An up-to-date look at homes all over (well… mine anyway) and what you can do to keep calm.

1. Lay off the Coffee.

  • With nowhere to go and seemingly nothing to do I find myself popping pods and brewing whole pots throughout the day as I try not to obsess on the …

–
2. Lay off the News

  • “1 new covid-19 update”  tab on the left of my screen I cannot seem to X out of

–
3. Lay off the Clock

  • As the minutes tick by so slowly, I find myself continually glancing at the clock hoping it’s May 1st and we all know wtf is going on

–
4. Lay off the Family

  • And hearing the drone of Minecraft coming from the living room where my daughter now lives
  • The swearing and yelling of one teenage boy’s side of a multiplayer video game  haranguing me through the wall
  • My husband is working from his new home office (our bedroom). Locking the door of his “office” at  8:30 am restricting access till 5:30 pm when he returns “home” at which point I have my bathroom back.

–
5.  Lay off the Pets

  • And the dogs are attempting to dig holes under the fence, barking madly at anyone coming near
  • The cats are using the cat box instead of the great outdoors for the first time in years yowling to be let into the “home office” and attempting to shred my furniture

All joking aside. I recognize how fortunate I am to have a home, a backyard, family to surround and annoy me, and pets to love me no matter how crazy I am.

If you are feeling panicked, frightened or lonely, I’m sending so much love out to you right now. There are many ways to help yourself throughout this situation. These are 2 things I do for myself when I feel anxious.

If possible close your eyes. See the blue, green and yellow energy calmly swirling around you. Feel the air be filled with kindness and rejuvenating energy, floating upward from the ground, coaxing and expelling the negative energies from you. When you reach the top of your head Picture Clear Blue Light pouring into you from above, filling those cleared spaces with soothing self-compassion and love.

And if I’m not alone or not in a comfort zone

I use a mantra I read years ago.  I’m sorry I can’t remember the source as these simple words have given me much comfort through the years.

“I stand in circles of light that nothing can cross”

It is as easy as that. Breathe. Repeat

“I stand in circles of light that nothing can cross”

I say this as many times as I need. As far as anyone else is concerned I’m checking my list. I can hold my phone as if looking or listening, focus intently on my written list or gaze into my basket.

You are not Alone!! We are all one!!

XOXO

May there be no shame at this time. You are not alone! Standing in divine light circles. Love this, thank you!
